Cold War in Europe - Assignment Example The attitude of the writer towards communism changes when the Soviets take the occupation of Czech in the 1946 elections. After the Yalta agreement that ended the brutal German rule, there was a reprieve as the pre-war president, Edward Benes takes power. The communists did well in these elections, but they did not form the majority government. They later took the power and instigated their rule with initiation of a one party state. The early phases of Prague Spring are portrayed as a call for reforms in the Dubcek governance. The voices that called for the end of centralisation of the economy and the call for the formation of the opposition Socialist party engineered the whole process. The call for reform of the party doctrine, and the free economy reforms dominated this period. Furthermore, Dubcek wanted to form interrelationship with the West. He claimed that Czech would continue to be subsidiary to the Soviet Union and the other partners. Fearing that their own citizens would demand for similar reforms, Breshnev took action to gain control. It became clear that the Warsaw Pact powers had the right to intervene in the matter. On the Warsaw Pact invasion, Dubcek called for the no-resistance, despite the sporadic fighting outbreaks. The students endeavoured to stop the Soviet tanks, and tried to involve the NATO. With over 70,000 Czech refugees, non-violent resistance took place. The president was arrested and taken to Moscow, but mass resistance led to his return to Czech. The later protests led to the removal of Dubcek as the president, and he was replaced by Gustav Husak who launched the normalisation programme (Conference Six Focus – topic 1). The impression obtained from the Czech political fortunes is that, they advocated for reforms in their system of governance. Deer hunting is a good thing Essay You’re driving home from a movie with your best friends and you’re doing about 60 on a country road you’ve known all your life. All of a sudden, out of your peripheral view, you see a couple of deer heading straight for your cars path. You hit the brake to try to avoid them and narrowly miss. You think to yourself how lucky you are that you didn’t hit one. What you didn’t know is the couple of deer you saw used to be a pack of 4 deer. A week earlier, two different hunters each took a deer from that herd. If it wasn’t for the hunters, you probably would’ve hit at least one deer. Deer  hunting isn’t as bad as it is portrayed to be! Hunting controls the deer population and along with predator population and the number of accidents involving deer decrease because of good ethical hunting. You would be amazed at how fast deer reproduce! According to Steve Johnson from The Deer Hunting Guide, during early November to early December is a period called the rut. There are three periods of the rut. The first is called â€Å"the pre-rut†. Bailey 2 Beginning in late summer or early autumn the blood flow to a buck’s soft antlers stop; they then harden or calcify. The whitetail buck rubs small trees to remove the velvet  on his antlers which is now drying up and beginning to shed. One of these places may be a city where people are everywhere. Needless to say there are very stupid people in this world and they will do stupid things to animals. Any animal is not afraid to defend itself and you would be surprised at their strength. People could get very hurt being so up close and personal to animals. Millions of dollars worth products were stolen from the headquarter .Top level management of coca cola found many issues regarding this and they believe that all this illegal activities done by their staff because every week more than thousands of bottles were stolen from the distribution centre . Staff members in distribution department sell their products in diaries on very cheap prices. There is no dedicated regulatory authority to oversee the carriage of the goods and whether the contractor takes the goods at the prescribed price, which causes the truck driver to sell the dairy and other beverages to the store owner at the price of the black market. This question fully reflects that New Zealand Coca-Cola Company abuse of trust, leadership should believe in their own staff, but should not set up a special regulatory authority to monitor. On the other hand, Coca-Cola lacks managerial talent Management did not follow the change management system.thats why staff start doing these kind of ilegal things in company because no one is watching them. Staff members doing illegal activities in organization there was no control on this .Management just only focus on sales and making profit .No team was there to check the whole department. According to the College Entrance Examination Board, â€Å"SAT scores of students who studied arts for more than four years were 59 points higher on the verbal portion and 44 points higher on the math portion than were the scores of students with no course work or experience in the arts† (Sakura). Cutting art from a school’s program, due to financial cutbacks, may prove to be more costly than keeping it would be. Martin F. I have tried to get as much exposure as I can in Law Enforcement. Currently, I am enrolled in a Law Enforcement course at Capitol Area Career Center, which I enjoy very much. While there, I have become a leader in the classroom. I enjoy participating in class discussions and have much to add to them. Recently, I was named Student of the Month for CACC. I feel your exceptional instructors can fully reinforce the valuable knowledge I have learned here. In my effort to learn as much as I can about my chosen field, I accompanied my uncle Dan Jackson, a crime scene investigator, in a ride along. I gained much information about the work that being a protector entails. I observed a murder investigation in detail. This experience, though it could discourage others, reinforced my drive to become the best police officer I can be. By accepting me into your program you will gain a student with the passion to succeed. Since I was small, I have dreamed of becoming a police officer.
